WORKSHOP EXTENSION, HAWTORN

Modern architecture is invariably as much about structure and construction as it is about space and abstract form. This assignment aimed to introduce the concept of tectonics in architecture. 

Specifically, it will explore contemporary tectonic techniques and new possibilities brought about by parametric modeling and digital fabrication. Working as a group we were asked to design a new ProtoLab Building for the Swinburne Hawthorn Campus.
